Samsung Galaxy S25: release date, price, models and everything we think we know about them

There will be no major changes in the next generation, although a more than ambitious family is expected

 

There are still a few months to go before the official presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S25 family. However, the first rumors about this phone are starting to appear. The Galaxy S25 generation will bring important changes compared to the previous one, according to leaked information.

How many models of the Samsung Galaxy S25 will there be?

Unless there's a surprise, we'll once again see three Samsung Galaxy S25 models this year. The first of these will be the Galaxy S25, the entry-level model to the family. A high-end model in every sense of the word, but with specifications cut back compared to its siblings.

The second model would be the Samsung Galaxy S25+, a model practically identical to the Galaxy S25, but with a larger screen. Finally, we would have the older brother. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra would once again be the flagship model, with a better camera, finishes and technical features than the S25+.

What will the design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 be like?

 

We already know in depth  the design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Recently leaked, it shows how this device will arrive with completely flat sides, following the current fashion. It will also be a lighter mobile, with 219 g compared to the 232 g of the S24 Ultra and the 227 g of the iPhone 16 Pro.

The bezels are expected to be slightly thinner than those seen on the previous generation, with no chin of any kind, symmetrical. A very similar design to what we saw last year, but refined.

 

The Samsung Galaxy S25 will continue to be made of aluminum, in order to differentiate the top models in terms of materials. Whether there will be radical changes in design or not is not likely, but as of today, we know little else about them.

 

The leaked mockups seem to confirm the OnLeaks leaks. A huge, almost edge-to-edge, fairly symmetrical phone with almost no chin. Samsung doesn't seem to want to go back to curved screens, for the moment. According to this leak, these are the dimensions of the three phones.

What features will the Samsung Galaxy S25 have?

The first leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S25 tell us about changes in size. The smallest Galaxy S25 would go from 6.2 inches to 6.46 inches, while the rest of the models would remain the same size (6.7 inches for the S25+ and 6.8 for the S25 Ultra). It would still be a more compact mobile than its siblings, but approaching6.4inches would take it quite far from that concept of a "small" mobile that we had with the 6.2 inches.

The leaks also point to a possible "full Exynos" strategy. Samsung is not doing well eith Qualcomm, processors with a significant extra cost for the Korean company's accounts. Betting on Exynos would be an interesting move in order to maximize profits, although it remains to be seen how the market would accept the total return of Exynos, after two years of Ultra models with Qualcomm.

Fortunately, the latest rumors refute this information. Samsung would bet on Qualcomm given the spectacular performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. It is a processor 25% more expensive than the previous ones, so there could be some surprises in the price of this phone.

It is also not ruled out that some variants of the S25 will feature Media Tek processors . On the DeepMind page, Google has let slip that the MediaTek "Flagship" would be one of the processors used in Samsung phones. Putting this all together, all eyes are on the S25.

At the photography level, everything is unknown for the moment. Samsung usually improves the main sensor and enhances the rest of the hardware through software, and having equipped the S24 Ultra with a new 5x zoom, no significant changes are expected in zoom for the next generation. It remains to be seen how the S25 and S25+ fare, models that are somewhat behind in this aspect.

The latest rumors point to an important novelty for this Galaxy S25.Satellite connectivity, first seen on iPhones, would be coming to all members of this family. This connection allows access to the network via satellite, without needing to be connected to a cellular network.

What will be the price of the Samsung Galaxy S25?

There is nothing set in stone yet regarding the price of the Samsung Galaxy S25. 2024 is set to be a year of some restraint, so a very significant price increase is not expected at the beginning of 2025. To put things into context, remember that these were the prices of the previous generation.

When will the Samsung Galaxy S25 be launched?

If everything goes according to Samsung's usual schedule, we will see the Samsung Galaxy S25 in the first quarter of 2025. Most likely between the months of January and February, a start to the year dominated by Samsung and its best phones.
